To assemble, you will need at least one dead hard drive.
Take the platters out, you will need three. The advantage of the platters is that they are flexible enough to bend with your hands, but of course, stay in place. Once you get the best angles, use packaging tape to temporarily hold them together.
Use double-sided tape (I used foam tape) to permanently mount them. Finally, I used stick-on rubber feet to keep it from slipping.
Here is the final product.
